Android Q to Provide System Apps Updates via Google Play Store

Well, a piece of interesting news came to a while ago that now, users can download the system updates directly from the Google Play Store. Yes, that is right! Now, Android users do not have to wait long for checking the system updates by tapping on the Settings apps on multiple occasions. Seems like Google is working on finding a different way by which Android phones will get the Android update soon. If Google succeeds, which it will, eventually, users will get the Android Q software update directly from the Google Play Store the same way they get it from the system Settings app.

Though we cannot say that it is a totally new concept as we have seen this way of getting updates from Apple to its Mac Computers; what makes it more exciting it that it is quite comprehensible experience for Android users. The reason why Google is working on getting Android system apps updated via Google Play Store is it will make the hectic Android updates less chaotic. As per the 9To5Google reports, the upcoming Android Q will have the functionality of offering updates through the Google Play Store. However, the company has not been vocal about the distribution of Google Play Store update; however, we can expect Google to announce this update along with all other sorts of details in the upcoming Google I/O, which is going to be held in May 2019.

Android users who are anticipated for the Beta version of Android Q must note that the Android Q Beta version is only available for the Google Pixel devices at present. Users who do not have the Google Pixel smartphones might need to wait for the Developer Preview, which is to be held after the Google I/O May 2019.

In a nutshell, Google has been working on giving the Android users a sigh of relief while either waiting for or downloading the latest Android updates. The weightage of this move by Google can be addressed by the fact that it will not only make the Android users able to get new and exciting features from time to time but also make sure that users will have their security patches up to date. The benefit of having an updated security patch is that it will be tough for malicious apps to access users’ data.

To make this work, Google has been working on Project Treble. Google initiated this project to help Android smartphone companies to release Android updates more rapidly. It happens oftentimes that huge companies such as Samsung or Huawei take months to update the security patches for their Android smartphones. Consequently, it will make it easy for malware and hackers to attack users’ data. By the help of Google’s Project Treble, smartphone users will not have to wait for ages – and expose their data to malware and hackers – for months to get the security patch updates.
