LG 30 to Feature f/1.6 Camera Lens for the Wonderful Imagery Experience

The smartphone camera is no doubt the single most crucial component today. No manufacturer wants to lag behind in adding larger sensors, dual-cameras, and other critical features. LG has maintained its focus on progressively improving its smartphone cameras using technologies like the dual-camera setup in its previous models such as the V20. However, LG has changed the focus with its LG V30 by introducing the largest aperture in the market today.

Unlike other smartphones that keep most features of their upcoming smartphones a top secret, LG prefers a more open approach. The company has revealed that one of the LG V30 features is an f/1.6 lens aperture. This makes the new LG V30 cruise past others into a class of its own.

Why the f/1.6 camera lens aperture?

To improve the quality of a photo, LG has been targeting allowing more light through the lens. This has been made possible by the f/1.6 lens in the V30. Aperture size in photography defines the focal length (ratio of lens focal length: aperture diameter). If the aperture is wide, the user can focus on a specific plane that brings a blurring effect on the background that every photographer craves for. However, a smaller aperture captures more scene with limited bokeh.

According to LG V30 news, the f1.6 aperture could be a game changer in the market. Though it might not look big, the difference with the common f1.8 aperture on the iPhone is immense. Note that the scaling is not linear! Therefore, the LG 30 f/1.6 will be allowing about 25% more light compared to the iPhone’s f/1.8 aperture.

According to the LG V30 leaks, the 25% additional light will translate to faster shutter speed or what LG points is lower ISO that helps to minimize noise. To make the wider aperture even more effective, LG will be using a clearer lens and image stabilization to ensure that the smartphone performs better even in low light condition.

LG V30 pioneer f/1.6 a cumulative experience to outdo competitors

Over the last few years, LG has focused on building its phone’s multimedia capabilities to reach the highly coveted market leader position in the smartphone world. When LG V10 was released, it was considered the best camera phone while the subsequent V20 had the most impressive sound. Now, LG is throwing a first by using an f/1.6 lens camera for an unmatched user experience that surpasses even the top competitors such as the Galaxy S8 with f/1.7 and iPhone 7 with f/1.8.

V30 the ultimate camera phone for the video savvy users

The LG 30 rumors on the f1.6 have opened a new way to look at smart phones. Taking advantage of its advanced glass application in DSLR cameras, Juno Cho emphasized that the V30 technology is bringing an irresistible experience for the savvy video users.

The LG V30 not only allows more light through the lens, but it also reduces distortion on the edges of a photo so that users can enjoy wide-angle capture. It will, therefore, yield better images in outdoor spaces, interior spaces, and group portraits. In addition to the f/1.6 lens, other features include electronic image stabilization, laser detection autofocus, and 30% smaller rear camera.
