The tech giant, Samsung, has announced its most-awaited Samsung Galaxy Note 9 via the Unpacked 2018 event, which was held on August 9, 2018. Like every other year, Samsung conducted this press event to unveil its next-generation mighty product called Galaxy Note 9 Smartphone. Notably, the other competitors of Samsung viz. Google, Microsoft and Apple conducted Google IO 2018, Microsoft Build 2018 and Apple WWDC 2018 respectively to unveil their products earlier this year. Now, it was Samsung’s turn to showcase their new launches and upgrades to its audience. Some of the biggest announcements Samsung made this year include the launch of Galaxy Note 9, Galaxy Watch, Bixby Improvements and Galaxy Home.

Samsung Note 9
One of the certain announcements of this year’s “Unpacked” event was the Galaxy Note 9. Samsung has made some slight changes in the design of Galaxy Note 9, which includes the fingerprint scanner’s location. You can, however, find out some great improvements to the Note 9 hardware such as the battery, camera, processor and storage as well. Some features that make the Galaxy Note 9 stand against the iPhone X and Google Pixel 2 include its Snapdragon 845 processor with a cooling system. This new cooling system makes sure that your phone will now run more efficiently than it did before.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 comes up in two variants where you will have the option to choose one based on your preferences. While Note 9 standard model is equipped with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, the upgraded version has 8GB of RAM and 512GB internal hard drive. Apart from that, Samsung is going to launch a new 512GB MicroSD card soon. Meaning, if you insert the 512GB MicroSD card in your new Galaxy Note 9, you will get a massive storage of One Terabyte. Isn’t it amazing? Another great feature that Galaxy Note 9 carries is its 4,000mAh battery, which gives you a great battery life.
The Samsung Note 9 has the slimmer bezels, which makes the screen size 6.4 inches. Apart from that, the Galaxy Note 9 has two 12-megapixel cameras. One of the cameras has the 2x optical zoom feature, which makes the pictures more clear and pleasant to look at. The Galaxy Note 9 camera has Samsung AI support, which makes it able to modify the camera settings for up to 20 different scenes as per the conditions. The Samsung Note 9 camera has another feature called the Flaw Detection, which notifies the users to recapture the picture if the photo isn’t as par the quality.
Samsung Galaxy Watch
Another huge announcement of the Samsung Unpacked 2018 event was its new smartwatch called “The Galaxy Watch”. Keeping all the rumours of using Google’s Wear OS, the Galaxy Watch would run Samsung’s wearable operating system called the Tizen. Like the Samsung Galaxy Note 9, the company has launched Galaxy Watch in two size variants i.e. 42mm and 46mm. Along with the high-resolution AMOLED touchscreen, the Galaxy Watch will have LTE connectivity and the battery life for a couple of days. In addition, Samsung is also giving the color choice for its 42mm model where the users can have either black or golden variant of the watch. However, for the 46mm model, there is only one option, silver that is.
Bixby Voice Assistant
Samsung, along with its two main products, made another huge announcement to improve its artificial intelligence voice assistant, Bixby. Through a distinct presentation, Samsung revealed how Bixby has got more personal and conversational touch. Apart from that, Bixby assistant got some features that include making reservations in the restaurants, searching for events taking place nearby and ordering Uber rides as well. Bixby also supports the Google Assistant.
Samsung Galaxy Home
Right after the announcements of Bixby improvements, Samsung surprised all the attendees with its brand new Samsung Home Speakers. Yes, that’s right! To compete with Amazon Echo and Google Home, Samsung has unveiled its Bixby-powered smart speaker called Galaxy Home. The brand new Samsung speakers will be smart enough to use the SoundSteer technology that will help you with all your tasks you’d usually go to your phone’s assistant for. The new Samsung Galaxy Home Speaker is equipped with six speakers, eight far-field microphones and a subwoofer. It just takes a phrase “Hey Bixby” to activate and performs all the tasks you want it to.
Samsung has also announced its new collaboration with the music streaming service, Spotify. This will make the Spotify your default music player when you ask Galaxy Home to play the music. Along with it, it will also work with the Samsung Smart TV and other non-smartphone products of Samsung. Notably, you don’t need to have a Spotify account to stream the music on your device.
